Study trip to SMM
Ever wanted to see the latest maritime technology up close?
Join us on a study trip to Hamburg on the 2-4 of September 2026 and get behind the scenes at SMM: The world’s largest maritime tech fair. Danish Maritime, Danish Shipping, Danish Marine Group and ShippingLab have teamed up to bring students form universities and marine engineering programmes closer to the global maritime industry.
During the three-day trip to SMM, you’ll experience the global maritime industry first-hand. You’ll meet a wide range of leading companies in the sector, explore the latest technology and discover the many career paths in shipping and maritime technology.
In addition to visiting the fair, the trip will include joint activities and opportunities to explore the maritime industry together with fellow students from across Denmark.
Information meeting
Participation in the trip requires attendance at a local information meeting held near your campus. The meeting briefs you on the trip and secure your spot. Details about time and place have been shared with your institution, but if you’re in doubt feel free to contact the organizer.
Practical information
- Dates: 2-4 of September 2026
- Participants: Limited numbers across institutions (all eligible applicants who sign up before the deadline will be considered for participation)
- Transportation to SMM: Pickup at your educational institution
- Accommodation & meals: Covered and arranged by the organizers
- Self-payment: A commitment fee of 300 DKK
Students who are offered a place will receive further information about payment of the commitment fee after the information meeting. All other costs, including transport, accommodation and meals, are covered.
