Danish Shipping Education (DSE) educates shipping-professionals of tomorrow in close collaboration with shipping companies, creating an education that is both theoretical and practical. Together we prepare trainees for an exciting future in the worldwide shipping industry.  

Practical Information:

Trainees are enrolled in DSE by the ship owner, bunker company, or other sort of shipping related company, with which they already have a signed contract. Trainees are therefore required to be employed in trainee positions during DSE.

Team 2026-2028 is planned to start September 7th 2026 and finishes 23rd of June 2028.

DSE 2026-2028 consists of five in-person modules, which complement the practical on-the-job training. Attendance at each module is mandatory. We strive to conduct 4 out of 5 modules in Denmark and the 5th module (not the final module of the education) is planned to be conduted abroad.

The dates for the modules are (4 and 5 might be subject to change):

• Module 1: Sept. 7th - 12th 2026 (Denmark)
• Module 2: Jan 18th - 23rd 2027 (Denmark)
• Module 3: April 19th - 24th 2027 (Brussels & Rotterdam)
• Module 4: Nov 8th - 13th 2027 (Denmark)
• Module 5: June 19th - 23th 2028 (Denmark)

Graduation Day will be hosted in Denmark on June 23rd 2028 unless another date is given.

Modules in Denmark take place at "Sonnerupgaard Gods", Tølløsevej 53, 4330 Hvalsø, +45 46 40 95 31, (www.sonnerupgaard.dk). The location of the 3rd Module will be on a location abroad that will be informed about in time as we settle this.

Please be aware that each Module starts around 07:00 am CET on Day 1 and end around 17:00 pm CET on Day 6. Please arrange flights and other transportation according to these time frames as this will be the mandatory part of module programs for all trainees.

Educational fee: 

DKK 79,000 for members of Danish Shipping/Danish Ferry Association, 

DKK 99,000 for non-members. 

These fees do not include accommodation for the 5 modules (see below) and books for the trainee purchased one time. It does not include potential re-exam fees either (for more information on re-exam fees, please ask for our "Full Exam Guide 2025"). The educational fee is paid in 3 instalments:

September 2026 Half fee + books

September 2027 Half fee + Accommodation year 1

September 2028 Accommodation year 2

The educational fee covers tuition, teaching materials handed out during teaching sessions, enterprise visits, transport to the modules from Danish Shipping on the 1st day of every module in Denmark and transportation from the location of the module to Copenhagen Central Station on the last day of every module in Denmark. The fee does not cover transport and accommodation before modules start and after modules end, this the companies will have to arrange for their trainees.

• Module 2: 10.500 dkr
• Module 3: 10.000 dkr
• Module 4: 10.500 dkr
• Module 5: 9.500 dkr

Terms of cancellation: 
Before the registration deadline: Free of charge 
After registration deadline: 45 days or more prior to Module 1 your company will not be charged for DSE. With 45 days og less days prior to Module 1 DSA charges your company for half of the educational price (for first year), ordered litterature for you trainee(s), stay for 1 Module, meals etc. that may be ordered for your trainee(s).

During the first year: No refund for year one
During the second year: No refund.
