* Students must provide a written certification by their institution, head of department, or employer. This certificate must be sent to maria@playthegame.org upon registration. If this letter is not received, the full registration fee will be charged.

CONFERENCE EXCURSION

On Wednesday 29 June there will be a late afternoon/evening excursion to the nearby University of Southern Denmark (SDU). The programme will open up for sport activities, and we will finish the excercises with a typical Danish evening course.

FAREWELL DINNER

There is no extra fee for the Farewell dinner on Thursday 30 June.

FREE ACCESS TO DGI SPORTS AND CULTURE FESTIVAL

The day after the conference, on Friday 1 July, the Danish Gymnastics and Sports Associations (DGI) invites all Play the Game participants to visit one of Europe’s biggest multisport festivals, the “Landsstævne” with an expected 25,000 participants. The festival takes place in Svendborg with direct train connection from Odense. There is free access to a lot of open-access activities.

Furthermore DGI offers 50 free tickets For Play the Game 2022 participants (tickets available on first come, first served basis). A ticket will cover an evening meal + entrance ticket to a spectacular show at the main arena where over 5,000 young people will perform on Friday evening at 8 pm - must be booked with your registration.

CONFERENCE CONFIRMATION     
When the registration and payment is settled, participants will receive a confirmation e-mail, which serves as a receipt. No further documents in this respect will be issued. 

CANCELLATION
Cancellations must always be made in writing to maria@playthegame.org.

In case of cancellation before 30 May 2022, the full amount less a cancellation fee of DKK 200 will be refunded. Cancellations made after 30 May 2022 and "no shows" will be charged at full cost.

Participants may transfer their registration to a colleague at any time. Requests must be made in writing and sent to maria@playthegame.org. There will be no fee for this service.

ACCOMMODATION

We have reserved a number of single/double rooms at the main conference hotel Hotel Comwell H.C. Andersen which is part of the conference venue Odeon.

Other hotels are: Milling Hotels and Cabinn

To obtain the stated room prices at the conference hotels you must book and pay directly at the hotels. In case of cancellation of your accommodation or no show you will be charged in accordance with your hotel's cancellation policy.

We strongly recommend an early booking of your accommodation. The whole island of Funen expects high pressure on hotel capacity that week caused by a number of simultaneous sports and cultural events.

VISA TO DENMARK

Visa information

We recommend that you apply for your visa in ample time before the conference.

Invitation letter
In case you need a visa for Denmark, Play the Game can support your visa application by issuing an invitation letter.

The invitation letter will not be issued until registration and payment for the conference is done. Due to strict immigration procedures, Play the Game may ask for further documentation before we can issue an invitation letter.

LIABILITY AND INSURANCE           
The organiser (Play the Game) will not take any responsibility, whatsoever, for injury or damage to persons or property during the conference. The organiser recommends that the participants read all rules and regulations thoroughly and insure themselves and their property for the conference duration.

PRIVACY POLICY
The Danish Institute for Sports Studies/Play the Game collects and processes personal data as a part of the institute’s activities. This applies primarily to research/analyses and the institute’s communication channels, including newsletters and websites.

VIDEO AND PHOTOGRAPHY DURING THE CONFERENCE
Play the Game will record video and take photos during the conference for publication at our conference website and at www.playthegame.org

Conference photos will also be uploaded to Flickr and made available for editorial use by media organisations and others.
