Join us on an exciting mission to Moldova and be part of an international team of youth election observers from Denmark and Moldova. The trip makes up a unique opportunity to engage directly in the democratic process of Moldova’s upcoming referendum on EU and presidential elections. The main goal of the mission is to contribute to ensure fair and transparent elections while fostering increased cooperation, learning, and understanding between the youth of Danish and Moldovan civil society.
The trip is organized by Silba - Initiative for Dialogue and Democracy in collaboration with DUF – The Danish Youth Council and CNTM – the National Youth Council of Moldova.
Key Details
- Travel dates: 15th to 22nd October 2024, with the election day on 20th October.
- Mandatory training: You are expected to attend a training weekend in Denmark (preliminary dates: 20th-21st September) and an online introduction session to an OSCE course that will give participants accreditation as international observers
- Expenses covered: All costs, including transportation (national and international), food, insurance, and visa, will be covered.
- Requirements:
- You are aged between 18-30
- You are a member of one of DUF’s member organisations or Silba
- You are comfortable in English (which is the working language of this activity)
- No prior knowledge or experience with election observation is required. The focus is on learning and participation. All you need is motivation, eagerness to learn about democracy and election observation, and a desire to meet peers from other youth organisations in Denmark and Moldova.
